After dominance in the opening Test, will India hold on to their playing 11 for the second Test in Kanpur?
The first Test saw many Indian players perform commandingly well, as many of these players returned to form. Pant and Gill renounced themselves into Test cricket with their stellar innings in the third inning of the game.
Ravichandran Ashwin scored a stellar hundred in the first innings and went on to pick up six wickets in the second Bangladesh innings. In the process, he also left behind the great Courtney Walsh, emerging as the world’s 8th highest wicket-getter in the longest format of the game.
The upcoming Test match is scheduled to be played at Kanpur, and India fans would look to see their legends shoot to form. Both the veterans, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, missed on runs in the first Chennai Test.
However, the batting department seems too upright to be changed for the upcoming Test, as the batting lineup would feature the likes of Rohit, Jaiswal, Gill, Pant, Kohli, and Rahul. However, after the first Test, Jadeja and Ashwin are to bind to their spots in the team, though the likes of Bumrah could be rested to assure another youngster a spot in the playing 11.
Both Yash Dayal and also the likes of Kuldeep could be brought back into the team, as that would be the only anticipated change in India’s lineup for the upcoming series.
