The first match of the Test series will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Indian team will start practicing in the ground one week before the start of the match. The presence of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan in the first round of matches is very much dependent on their fitness.

Pant is expected to make his comeback in the red ball format which he has dominated. He will make his comeback in the Test team for the first time after the near fatal car crash that he suffered in December 2022. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan hasn’t been picked in the squad since December 2023. He was even dropped from the central contract of the BCCI at the start of the year. It remains to be seen if he does make his comeback in the Test team against Bangladesh.
