Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, along with his wife Sakshi arrived in a polling booth in Ranchi to vote in the Jharkhand Assembly Election on Wednesday. Fans gathered in large numbers beside the polling booth to catch a glimpse of the popular World Cup-winning captain.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been named the brand ambassador for Jharkhand’s elections. The state’s chief electoral officer confirmed that they had received permission from Dhoni to utilize his image in promotional materials for the assembly polls. Dhoni’s role involves boosting voter turnout by enhancing awareness through the SWEEP initiative.

The rule states that if a player has not played international cricket for five years, then he can be retained by the franchise as an uncapped player. Dhoni stepped down from captaincy ahead of IPL 2024 and handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad.
The team did not qualify for the playoffs but Dhoni displayed the glimpses of his prime years by playing some explosive cameos consistently down the the order. He has played through knee injury during the tournament but that has not stopped the fans from all over the country from arriving in the stadium to watch him wearing his jersey. His fan following knows no bounds even after retiring from international cricket and that has been seen in the IPL in the last few seasons.
Fans will again be excited to see the former CSK and Indian captain take on the field in IPL 2025. The legend is singlehandedly responsible for driving the popularity and TRP of the tournament. Till he is playing, his craze will be everlasting.
