Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto rose to the occasion and shared his team’s confident mindset before the 2-match Test series in India.

Bangladesh created history by beating team Pakistan on their soil in a 2-match red ball series. The Bengal Tigers clean swept the hosts, and have been riding high on confidence, since.

“I think in the last 10-15 years, most of the players have gained experience. Of late, players aren’t getting too emotional. In the last couple of years, I felt we had been better at controlling our emotions. We are thinking about our game, not about what will happen if we lose or win. We are just trying to give 100% in every single match. That’s why it looks calm and follows every single plan,” Shanto said in the press interview ahead of the first Test.

However, despite praising his side, Shanto has admitted that playing conditions in India are way different, and even their team is a very promising side. However, the Bangladesh captain added that they are not thinking about opponents but rather are looking to only focus on their game.

Bangladesh are about to begin their quest for the red-ball series win against India. They have shared their belief to win and now all comes down to how they perform on the field.

They have quality young openers in Zakir Hasan and the newly included Shadman. The experienced veterans in Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim will take command of Bangladesh’s middle-order and make sure that the team don’t suffer a collapse.

However, Bangladesh’s MVP lies in their lower-order gem in Litton Das, the explosive wicketkeeper batter, and their superstar from the Pakistan tour, Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Miraz has not only been sensational with the bat but also has contributed significantly with the ball.

Bangladesh have a quality spin trio of Mehidy, Shakib and Taijul Islam, which could prove to be a big threat for the opposition. It will be interesting to see how they team will fare against a top side in the upcoming series.
