Nasser Hussain picks his current favourite player and it’s neither Virat Kohli nor Steve Smith

Former English captain and current cricket expert, Nasser Hussain picked Indian captain Rohit Sharma as his current favorite player in international cricket. He revealed this on a panel show with Australian legend Ricky Ponting on Sky Sports.

The former captain didn’t hesitate to pick Indian Rohit Sharma over every English batter, which was shocking for the fans. He appreciated Rohit for his effortless batting and powerful strokes. Nasser said,

Watching Rohit’s batting gives the impression that he has plenty of time to play his shots. His pull shots are exceptional. He plays shots against any bowler with great ease, making it very exciting to watch him bat.

Apart from this, he also praised former England captain Joe Root, for his phenomenal batting in red-ball cricket. He stated that Root is the best test batsman in the entire world and no one is even close to him.

The English cricket expert also chose Shane Warne, as the toughest bowler to face. He added,

Facing Warne was quite challenging. He wreaked havoc everywhere with his charismatic deliveries. He was a great spinner.”

Former cricketers Nasser Hussain and Ricky Ponting, on a panel show with Sky Sports, were discussing about their favorite venue in the world to play.

Former Australian Captain, Ricky Ponting, chose Melbourne Cricket Ground, in Australia to be his favorite venue in the world. He unveiled that, the lads were lucky to play a boxing day Test match at the venue, with over 90,000 to 1,00,000 fans in the stands. He also mentioned the World Cup finals, he played at the venue and managed to score decent runs in the occasions.

To this, the English cricket expert, Nasser Hussain, replied that the Lord’s in England, is the best place to play cricket all over the world. Ponting jokingly replied, he got zero Test hundreds at Lord’s, which made him choose MCG over Lords.
