Nathan Lyon picks the Top 3 Indian batters to dismiss in the Border-Gavaskar Series 2024-25

The Border-Gavaskar series never fails to serve an entertaining and fierce cricketing rivalry for the fans. For the next edition, India will travel to Australia at the end of 2024 to take part in a five-match Test series.

The hype and discussion regarding the series has already started. Meanwhile, Australia’s legendary off spinner, Nathan Lyon, has picked the three best batters of India to dismiss in the series.

He picked Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant as the three batters who can trouble Australia in the upcoming series. He also praised the other batters in the probable batting line-up of India and called it to be a massive challenge to come up against them. However, he claimed that if Australian bowlers are disciplined then they can definitely challenge the Indian batting.

“Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant are probably going to be the three really big ones. But then you have still got Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and who else will come out another five, I am not sure. But it is a pretty amazing line-up they have got, so it is going to be a massive challenge. As I said, if we, as a bowling group, are good enough for long periods, hopefully, we can challenge their defence,” he told Star Sports.

Virat Kohli played just one game in the last Test series back in Australia. He left for home after India’s humiliating loss in the first Test in Adelaide.

However, the Indian team, under Ajinkya Rahane, mounted a strong comeback to beat a star-studded Australian line-up 2-1 at their own den. Rishabh Pant was the hero of the game at the Gabba, where he played a sensational innings to help India register a historic win at Australia’s fortress. He will be looking to emulate the same performance in the upcoming tour as well.
