Mumbai state team player Prithvi Shaw has been left out of the Vijay-Hazare squad for Mumbai after his disgusting performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which recently ended with Mumbai securing their 62nd domestic title.
Shaw, who was once predicted to be India’s finest rising talent, later saw a serious drop in his form and also raised eyebrows with his off-field misconduct. Shaw has often been seen involved in doping and later cases of off-field misconduct, which involve his wayward lifestyle.
Shaw, after being dropped from the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad of Mumbai, wrote on his Instagram story, “Tell me, God, what more do I have to see? If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough… But I will keep my faith in you, and hopefully, people believe in me still… because I will come back for sure… OM SAI RAM…”
The cricketer has ignored his dismaying form in the SMAT 2024 and has played the victim card over his snub from the state squad to acquire the interest and support of his fans. This seems lame from Shaw.
Prithvi Shaw went unsold in the IPL 2024 mega auction
The IPL mega-auction marked the inclusion of a huge bunch of players, while a large sum of money was spent. Shaw, who previously played for the Delhi Capitals since his arrival in the Indian Premier League, was released ahead of the mega auction.
Shaw, when called for the mega-auction, could not gather the interest of several franchises, as despite having a reduced price of INR 75 lakhs, he failed to acquire an opening bid. Not only other franchises but also his previous side, the Delhi Capitals, showed no interest in the player, as he went unsold.
