The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 is set to start soon with the first Test match scheduled to be held at the Optus Stadium in Perth from November 22. The Indian Cricket Team is already in Australia and is preparing for the first Test. From one of the net sessions, a hilarious incident concerning Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah has gone viral on social media.

The BCCI has uploaded a hilarious video of a duel between the star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Pant and the fast bowler, Bumrah. The bowling coach of the team, Morne Morkel, was the umpire.

The video kickstarted with Jasprit Bumrah saying, “His bowling action is illegal.” Pant replied back and said: “But it’s in the net, and you can ask Morne, did I get Bumrah out or not?”. There was a hilarious banter battle between the both which was clearly captured in the video.

Rishabh Pant went on to say, “On record, I’ve beaten Jasprit Bumrah. I’ve got one wicket out on the net. You can ask Morkel.” And the bowler said, “He didn’t get him out. short ball, beautiful pass.” Later, Jasprit Bumrah said, “I’ve connected a full shot. He thinks he has seven fielders there. He’ll not be allowed to bowl.”

Meanwhile, India are definitely under pressure after losing the home Test series against New Zealand 3-0. They will now need to win four Test matches in the series to have any chance of qualifying for the WTC final. The series loss against the Kiwis was their first-ever Test series loss on home soil since 2012 and their first ever Test series whitewash at home since they started playing Test cricket.

The batters are under tremendous pressure after their poor show with the bat in the home series and they are set to get a green-top wicket in Perth which will be fast, have bounce and will aid seam movement against the likes of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, has not travelled with the team as he is set to miss the first Test match due to personal reasons. Bumrah might step in as the captain for the first Test.
