Rishabh Pant breaks silence on Suryakumar Yadav's catch in the T20 World Cup final in 2024

Indian Cricket Team scripted history by winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. They won the tournament without losing any game and beat South Africa in the final by 7 runs. The win in the final was largely possible due to the breathtaking catch by Suryakumar Yadav on the long-off boundary to dismiss the dangerous David Miller. Recently, Rishabh Pant, talked about that sensational catch.

Pant said that when the ball was flying they felt it was a sure shot six and the game was done. He felt that it was struck very well. However, as per him, the prayers of the passionate Indian fans did not allow the ball to cross the boundary ropes.

“When the ball was in the air, it felt like everything was gone. When it hit the bat, it seemed like a sure-shot six. The ball didn’t cross the boundary line because of the Indian fans’ prayers,” Pant said on Tanmay Bhatt’s YouTube Channel.

Rishabh Pant, meanwhile, made his comeback to cricket after a hiatus of one and half years after the near fatal car crash that he suffered in December 2022. He did not look in his full flow in IPL 2024 but was selected for the World Cup squad. He did manage to play some cameos but was not at his absolute best.

Meanwhile, he is looking to make his red ball return after being picked in the squad for the first Test between India and Bangladesh, starting from September 19 in Chennai. Pant has been a sensational performer in red ball cricket by scoring centuries in all SENA countries. He scored a half century in the second innings of the recent Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B in Bengaluru. Team India fans will be hoping that Pant comes back to his absolute best before the Test series in Australia.
