Just a day back, India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pantโs video went viral, where he was seen setting up the field for the Bangladesh team as they resorted to bowling against him.
Rishabh Pant is often considered one of the most engaging characters on the field in whichever format he features for. In such a feat, Pant was seen engaging in a fun situation where he set the field for the Bangladesh side.
The stump mic caught Pant saying, โOne fielder here,โ as he pointed his finger towards the direction of mid-wicket. What seemed more hilarious was Bangladesh skipper Shanto abided by his decision and changed the field accordingly.
Recently, while speaking with Saba Karim, he revealed the explanation for his viral act. Pant answered quirkily with a befitting reply, which implied that he was trying to help the visitors and be more competitive in the game.
โAjay (Jadeja) Bhai and I often talk about how cricket should be better, whether the other team plays or our own. There wasnโt a fielder there; two fielders were standing in the same spot, so I told him to position a fielder there,โ Pant said, leaving Karim, Jadeja, and other members of the broadcasting team in splits.
Rishabh Pant declares his commanding presence back into red-ball action
Pant is one of Indiaโs best-made wicketkeeper batters to have played in the longest format of the game. He went on to be deprived of cricket action for almost 15 long months after suffering a long struggle due to injuries faced by his horrible car accident.
Rishabh Pant made a comeback for India after almost a long period of 634 days in the longest format of the game, after an impressive performance in the opening round of the Duleep Trophy. His pick didnโt seem to disappoint the hopes of the Indian fans, as he marched into commanding form.
Rishabh, who got to a decent start early on in the first innings, converted it to a huge score as he made a comeback with a stunning 6th Test hundred.
Rishabh Pant scored 148 runs altogether in the two innings at a remarkable striking rate. Given the amount of runs he has already scored in Test cricket, Pant could be well become one of the best wicket-keeper batters the world has ever seen in Tests.
