"Let them have fun," Rohit Sharma throws a sarcastic dig at the Bangladesh Cricket Team

Indian Cricket Team, led by Rohit Sharma, will square off against Bangladesh Cricket Team in a 2-match Test series at home starting from September 19 in Chennai.

Ahead of the first Test match, the Indian captain addressed a press conference on Tuesday. The Indian captain looked in a jolly mood.

In a light-hearted manner, Rohit emphasised that every team wants to beat India. However, for the Indian captain, the focus is on the challenges ahead and their preparations to beat the opposition.

He also cited the example of the statements passed by the English Cricket Team regarding Bazball and their threat to India at the start of the year.

However, Rohit feels that they did not focus on those statements and rather played their own game.

He feels that India have faced a lot of strong oppositions, recently, and he wants to win the matches rather than thinking about the oppositions.

“Sabhi teamo ko india ko harana hai, unhe india ko harane me maza ata hai, maze lene do unko (let them have fun), we will focus on how to beat them. We need to win the match and that’s what we are here for. We can’t think about what they have to think and say about us. When England came here, they said a lot of things too. But we didn’t focus much on it. We needed to delivery results and that’ll be out aim here as well. To play good cricket. India have played against a lot of teams recently and out combined aim is to win, rather than keep thinking about the opposition,” Rohit said in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

Bangladesh are coming off 2-0 win over Pakistan

Bangladesh have beaten Pakistan 2-0

Bangladesh are coming to the Test series after a comprehensive and dominating 2-0 victory against Pakistan in Pakistan.

They are looking confident and are keen to challenge India. However, beating India in India in a Test series is one of the toughest jobs to do. The last few encounters between India and Bangladesh in the last few years have been exciting.

The two teams have locked horns with each other on 13 occasions in Test cricket history. India have managed to beat Bangladesh in 11 Tests, while two games resulted in draws. Notably, Bangladesh are yet to win a Test match against India.
