SA vs IND: Indian Cricket Team led by Suryakumar Yadav have landed in Durban for the four-match T20I series against South Africa, starting from November 8.
VVS Laxman will serve as the interim Head Coach for the series in the absence of Gautam Gambhir, who has started preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy kicking off on November 22.
The players involved in the upcoming T20I series have started to get a know how of the South Africa culture and hence were part of a quiz session where they were questioned about South Africa’s heritage and unique attributes.
Opener Abhishek Sharma and all-rounder Axar Patel were questioning their other Indian teammates about the facts related to South Africa heritage and also were involved in some personal hilarious questions about the Indian players in the squad.
Abhishek threw a question to Tilak Verma: “Is South Africa the only country with three capitals?” The end of the quiz was with a light hearted question: “Does Axar Patel have the loudest laugh in the squad?”
India will face South Africa for a four match T20I series
The schedule for the four-match T20I series during India’s tour of South Africa in 2024 is as follows:
- 1st T20I: November 8, 2024, in Durban.
- 2nd T20I: November 10, 2024, in Gqeberha.
- 3rd T20I: November 13, 2024, in Centurion.
- 4th T20I: November 15, 2024, in Johannesburg.
Both the teams have faced each other in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados. Rohit Sharma’s men beat the Proteas by 7 runs to win their second T20 World Cup Trophy. Meanwhile, India have suffered a disastrous season at home after getting whitewashed in the home Test series against New Zealand.
They lost the series 3-0 and this became their first Test series loss at home in 12 years. Not only that, the whitewash became the first time that the team suffered this at home right from the time they started playing Test cricket. However, Suryakumar Yadav’s men won the previous three-match T20I series against Bangladesh at home.
