Former India batter Sanjay Bangar’s son, Aryan, posted about his 10- month hormonal transformation journey on his Instagram post. He talked about how finding his ‘real self’ was his greatest victory. However, he has deleted the post which contained his pictures with MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and his father.
The hormonal transformation from man to woman, often undertaken through Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), is a profound journey reshaping both body and identity. It starts with estrogen, which gradually feminizes the physique by softening the skin, redistributing body fat to hips, thighs, and breasts, and reducing muscle mass.
Simultaneously, testosterone blockers like spironolactone are used to diminish male traits, decreasing facial hair growth and libido. Over months, these hormones work subtly, like a sculptor refining clay, with changes visible in skin texture, facial structure, and body contours. Emotionally, there’s often a deep alignment with one’s inner self, a blossoming into authenticity, navigating through a myriad of feelings as the body and mind harmonize.
What did Sanjay Bangar’s son post?
The caption from the deleted Instagram post read:
“From early mornings on the field to facing the doubts and judgments of others, every step has demanded strength. But beyond the game, I had another journey. A path of self-discovery and a lot of challenges faced.Embracing my true self meant making hard choices, letting go of the comfort of fitting in, and standing up for who I am, even when it wasn’t easy. Today, I’m proud to be a part of the sport I love at any level or category ,not only as an athlete but as my authentic self. The road hasn’t been easy, but finding my true self has been the greatest victory of all.”
Aryan Bangar, like his father, bats left-handed. He honed his skills at Islam Gymkhana in Mumbai’s local club scene before moving to Hinckley Cricket Club in Leicestershire. After undergoing surgery, Aryan now identifies as Anaya.
