Shreyas Iyer set to be released by KKR, Rinku retained -Reports

Ahead of the start of the IPL 2025, the defending champions KKR are reported to release their captain Shreyas Iyer. Under Gautam Gambhir as head coach, Iyer led the team to their third IPL title after defeating mighty SRH in the finals.

According to the reports by Revsportz, Rinku Singh is to be retained for a value of around Rs. 15 Crore. The young finisher is having a dream season after winning the IPL and T20 World Cup in the same year. He is also a crucial part of the national team in 20-over format.

KKR would be looking for a new captain in the 2025 IPL mega auction. Apart from this, they are reported to retain Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana as their uncapped players.

Shreyas Iyer would be looking forward to get into the auction with teams such as RCB, LSG, PBKS, and DC looking for a captain. The amount of talent he posses, teams can easily bid 10 to 15 Crore to acquire his services.

Dwayne Bravo, the newly appointed mentor would play a crucial role in deciding who can become the next captain and carry on the legacy of Shreyas Iyer. The West-Indian would be looking forward to strengthen their bowling as well as all-round department. This year’s mega auction could be the make or break year, as this would lay the foundation for the next three years for the franchise.
