Star Indian batter ruled out of the first test match against Australia

Indian star batter, Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the first test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Devdutt Padikkal, who was part of the India A squad in Australia, has been requested to remain with the Test team.

Shubman Gill has been a crucial player for Team India, batting at No. 3, where he has consistently provided stability and strength to the top order with his solid technique and ability to score under pressure. The batter played various impactful knocks for team India against Bangladesh and New Zealand in India. He was seen as an important player for Indian cricket team for the Australian tour of India.

As per the reports, Shubman Gill sustained the injury while fielding in the slips and had to leave the field, not returning thereafter. He injured his left thumb on the second day of India’s intra-squad training match at the WACA.

Missing Shubman Gill in the first Test against Australia would be a big loss for Team India. He plays a key role at No. 3, providing stability at the top of the order. Without him, India might struggle to build strong partnerships and set up good totals. Gill is good at handling tough conditions, especially in Australia, so his absence could make it harder for India to face the Australian bowlers.
