India have already won the three-match ODI series against England at home by taking a 2-0 lead in the series. Ahead of the start of the Champions Trophy, Indian team management would like to make some changes for the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this article, let us take a look at the three possible changes that India might make for the third ODI against England.
Three changes India might make in their playing XI for third ODI vs England:
#1 Yashasvi Jaiswal in for Shubman Gill
Yashasvi Jaiswal earned his ODI debut in the first ODI of the series in Nagpur in the absence of Virat Kohli. However, with Kohli back in the XI, he was benched for the second ODI in Cuttack. In ODIs, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma have been the opening combination. Gill has scored two flamboyant half-centuries in the first two ODIs, and he might make the way for Jaiswal in the third ODI.
#2 Arshdeep Singh in for Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami made his comeback in the ODIs in this series after the ODI World Cup in 2023. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, he has been the leader of the pack but has not been at his very best. Arshdeep Singh, who is also in the squad for the Champions Trophy, did not get to play in the first two ODIs. So, in the final ODI, Shami might make the way for Arshdeep to be included in the team.
#3 Kuldeep Yadav in for Varun Chakravarthy
Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s main spinner in ODIs and was also part of the first ODI in Nagpur. However, Varun Chakravarthy was included in the second ODI owing to his recent run of good form. However, Yadav might be back in the XI for the third ODI in place of Chakravarthy. Kuldeep is making his return from injury, and India will hope that he gets back to his wicket-taking form.
