Recently, the Barbados Royals made everyone go awry with their amazing celebrations after they won against TKR in the WCPL 2024 final at the Brian Lara Stadium.
After Alleyne clinched a vital wicket for Glasgow, she called up fellow West Indian and Barbados Royals teammates, Qiana Joseph and Rashada Williams, as the trio performed a celebration in their own Caribbean style.
The Windies are often known for their unique ways of celebration, as several men’s cricketers, like DJ Bravo and Chris Gayle, have celebrated in strange ways that later went on to be trademarks for many.
The video shows the Caribbean trio grooving to beats:
Alleyne was the Player of the Match in the Barbados Royals’ road to glory
Alleyne took his first wicket as she bowled a simple full-length delivery to get rid of Jannilea Glasgow. The latter seemed set with a decent 24 runs off 31 deliveries with 3 fours. The batter, in her quest to clear the infield, miscued a shot and was caught sharply by Wellington.
After that, Alleyne called up her teammates, thus starting her most intriguing take on the match, as they celebrated wholeheartedly. It was then that she got the wickets of Shikha Pandey, Chedean Nation, and Zaida James and finished with remarkable figures of 4/21 in her full spell of 4 overs.
This led the opponents TKR to be restricted to a small total of 93-8 in their 20 overs, as a result of which the Barbados Royals women could chase it off comfortably. In the batting front as well, the Royals started very well with Chamari Athapaththu’s steady start, which finally led them to a win.
