The Big Cricket League is witnessing the inaugural season of the tournament in the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. The 6th match of the tournament played between MP Tigers and UP Brij Stars held today marked one of cricket’s most bizarre moments.
While chasing a huge total of 240 runs, UP Brij Stars batter Chirag Gandhi, despite the fall of wickets, batted stunningly and recorded 98 runs without any trouble. The batter faced 53 balls when Pawan Negi bowled the 19th over; the batter, in an attempt to cut a ball, slammed it back onto his stumps.
However, despite the ball crashing into the stumps, when he was destined to walk back, he saw the bail of the stumps fly and then get balanced on the top of his stumps. The umpires ruled this decision to be fair, and the batter was given not out, and, eventually, he scored a century.

Commentators erupted in disbelief, while the internet exploded after the incident, as bails remained intact at the top of the stumps, which, according to the rules of cricket, favoured Chirag Gandhi.
However, despite the centurion scoring a pile of runs, he could not take his team over the line, as UP Brij Stars eventually lost the game by a huge 71-run margin. Pawan Negi, who failed to pick Chirag’s wicket, had earlier batted stunningly for his 87 runs at a strike rate over 200, which gave the Tigers the firm finish.
