Experienced Indian batter KL Rahul and backup wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel have been added to India A squad for the second unofficial Test against Australia A.
The duo arrives in Australia a week ahead of the rest of India’s Test squad to gain match time before the five-Test series begins on November 22 in Perth.
KL Rahul has been having a tough time with his form, recently. He hasnโt been able to score big runs, even though he gets off to good starts. This dip in form has raised concerns about his readiness for the upcoming Test series in Australia.
Match practice for him is crucial, especially after the Indian team canceled their only intra-squad warm-up match for center-wicket simulation in Perth.
The veteran batter has been putting in the hard work in the nets alongside the other batters from the India A squad ahead of the second match. He is expected to start the match against Australia A in Melbourne cricket ground in place of Ishan Kishan, who was involved in a recent ball-change controversy.
This tour match is very important for KL Rahul, as his performance here will play a key role in deciding whether he keeps his spot in the Indian team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy match on November 22. A strong showing in this match could help him regain his confidence and secure his place in the starting XI for the upcoming series.
