Abhishek Sharma has made a name for himself right from the time he has made his debut in T20I cricket. He has taken the world by storm, and his breathtaking shots were on display in the fifth and final T20I match of the series between India and England. Abhishek scored the second-fastest century in T20I cricket as he brought up the milestone in just 37 balls.

The southpaw took the attack to the bowlers right from the start of the inning as he stepped down the track to hit Jofra Archer and Mark Wood for sixes. Abhishek did not slow down as he brought up his half-century in just 17 deliveries and continued on his merry way. He smashed sixes to all parts of the ground as the English bowlers had no plans or clue against the onslaught from him.

Many high-profile VIPs were in the stands as they bore witness to sensational innings from the Sunrisers Hyderabad and India openers. Owner of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani, who is also the owner of the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, was so elated with the innings of Abhishek that he stood up and clapped for the Southpaw.

India put 247 runs on the board in their 20 overs courtesy of a 135-run innings of 54 balls from Abhishek. He smashed seven boundaries and 14 sixes during his innings. In reply, England were bowled out for just 97 runs. Abhishek won the Man of the Match award for his breathtaking innings at the Wankhdede Stadium.

After the end of the match, Abhishek Sharma expressed that his century in Mumbai was particularly meaningful. He mentioned that playing for the country always brings him great joy and reiterated his previous statements about how he tries to make the most of his day by playing aggressively from the very first ball. He appreciated the support and encouragement from his coach and captain, noting that their backing was something special to him.
