During a cricket match, sometimes cameras play a major role in capturing a bunch of hilarious moments that add comic relief to the most intense moments. Recently, during the ongoing South Africa vs Sri Lankan match, Protea skipper Temba Bavuma was captured with his thumb stuck in his helmet during the first Test match. It was noticed that Bavumaโs glove thumb got stuck in the helmet as he struggled for his life to adjust his helmet.
The South Africans were bowled out for a minor 191 runs in the first inning, as the Protea bowlers seemingly manhandled the Sri Lankan batters, having taken a 149-run lead in the second inning.
The collapse was initiated by Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen alongside Coetzee as their third pacer; however, Jansen surpassed Bavumaโs excellence on a gloomy day as he picked 7-wickets in the inning.
Temba Bavuma amazes with a prodigious six
The Protea batter, who kept one end intact in the first inning during the horrible batting collapse faced by the Proteas on Day 1, was seen hitting a six in the most bizarre manners in Test cricket. Bavuma, who scored a decent 70 runs from just 117 balls, took the Proteas’ innings to some score.
During his innings, Sri Lankaโs wicket-taking quick bowler Lahiru Kumara bowled a bumper delivery and Bavuma smashed an upper cut, lifting himself up from the ground into the air. That particular shot has been doing the rounds on social media. You can watch the video clip here:
South Africa, owing to their skipper heroism and bowlers’ dominance, is now leading by 281 runs, currently placed at 132/3 in their second inning.
