The Duleep Trophy is currently on and India A are facing off against India B in Bengaluru. During India A innings, Rishabh Pant, gave a clear instruction to Mukesh Kumar from behind the stumps, that if he wants to bowl a bouncer then that should be aimed at the batter’s head and not be wayward. The very next ball, Mukesh bowled a body directed short ball which rose up to hit Deep on his chest.
Pant is known to be a very loud speaker from behind the stumps. He always keeps on chirping from behind the stumps, either to distract the batters or to energise the fielders. Sometimes, he even comes up with hilarious acts from behind the stumps.
Rishabh Pant has scored a half century in the Duleep Trophy
Rishabh Pant made his comeback to cricket in IPL 2024 after one and half years of staying away from the game due to a near fatal car crash that he suffered in December 2022. He did not have a very good performance in IPL 2024 and was seen out of touch in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024 that India won.
Pant has been a sensational player in the red-ball cricket. He has smashed hundreds in all the SENA countries. He will most probably be making his comeback to red ball cricket and hence, Duleep Trophy is an important opportunity for him to get into the mix of things in this red ball format.
Pant hit a half-century in just 34 deliveries as he plundered the India A bowling line-up on Day 3 of the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Pant was looking very much out of touch in the first innings. However, he really came up clutch in the second innings. This will definitely be a good sign for India going into the Test season.
