Rajasthan Royals’ batter Riyan Parag has taken over the internet with one gem of a shot that went sailing for a six during the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024. Playing for India A, Riyan Parag hit a beautiful lofted cover drive for six over long-off boundary.
When he came to bat, his team was struggling as they lost both the openers early. However, the tense situation didn’t seem to bother the young batter much. Parag smashed the double wicket-taker Kaverappa for a humongous six over long-off boundary. The connection was so sweet that the ball waiting sailing the moment it touched the middle of the bat. Riyan Parag aiming to cement his place in India team
The 22-year-old has had the best season ever with the Rajasthan Royals in the previous edition where he scored 573 runs at an average of 52.09. He finished as the third highest run-getter that season.
After the T20 World Cup triumph, Riyan Parag was included in India’s squad for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. He played one ODI and scored 15 runs. Besides, he played two T20Is, registering scores of 7 and 26.
India are yet to announce their squad for Bangladesh T20Is. Chances remain firm that Parag should retain his spot in the T20I side despite not making a huge impression against SL. Parag’s spin also comes in handy and makes him a good candidate in white-ball cricket. He might also be retained by the Royals team ahead of the IPL following his good show with the bat.
