India veteran batter Virat Kohli’s great feat on this very day comes to the limelight again, as he broke one of Sachin’s numerous records a year ago during a match against Pakistan.

Virat Kohli is considered the modern-day great, and he has broken many such records of the legend Sachin Tendulkar in his ever-growing and splendid career. Kohli, on September 11th, 2023, broke their record of Tendulkar to power India to their biggest win against arch-rivals Pakistan.

In an Asia Cup match at Colombo, on this very day a year ago, India was put to bat first, as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill posted half-centuries before they got out. Then Virat Kohli with an unbeaten 122* and comeback man KL Rahul, with a terrific 111, took India to a mammoth 356/2.

Pakistan, in return, were reduced to nine men, as Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah were out after injury during the first inning. Pakistan, in the quest for 357 runs, were bolded out for a mere 128 runs, as Kuldeep struck five times and the rest fell to Hardik and Jasprit in the beginning of the innings.

India won the match by a historic 228 runs, which marked the biggest victory of the side against the neighbouring nation. This match had several other feats, as he also scored his 47th ODI hundred and 77th overall while completing 13000 ODI runs.

India will begin their hectic Test schedule, which will include 10 Test matches. Of which, the series against Bangladesh is about to start on the 19th of September, as Team India starts preparation at the Chidambaram Stadium on the 12th of this month.

Alongside the young guns, skipper Sharma and Virat Kohli will return from outside countries to India and will join the Indian team. Both these players will play a vital role in India’s matches at the longest format of the game.

Virat Kohli is looking to back his form in the first Test against Bangladesh. The batter has been struggling against spin lately. His return to form is essential from India’s point of view as India looks to make their way into the BGT to be held in Australia and also the upcoming WTC final, which might be India’s third consecutive entry as finalists if they continue their good form.
