Legendary Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram recently celebrated his 11th marriage anniversary with his wife Shaniera Akram on the 19th of this month.

The former cricketer and his wife both celebrated their special day with their fans and followers as they displayed love and affection on their social media handles. The cricketer’s wife started with a hilarious post of the husband’s edited image of a bald head, which was also accompanied by a caption that sparked lighthearted teasing.


Despite making a hilarious statement about her husband’s appearance, she conveyed his loving presence in her life with a warm heart. The cricketer responded to the wife’s funny yet touching post with another heartfelt post that showcased the immense respect he has for the women in his life.


The lady again declared her love with a lively post she mentioned: Happy Anniversary, my baby @wasimakramlive.” Thank you for everything you are and everything you give to my life; you are my world, and 11 years on, you look as good as the day I met you; you haven’t changed a bit !!! she posted later.

An insight into Wasim Akram’s career

Wasim Akram, a left-handed pace bowler, is one of the greatest the world has ever witnessed. Akram started his career in 1984 a year later of Pakistan’s World Cup semi-final defeat. He emerged as one of the greatest under Imran Khan as they won the World Cup in 1992.

The legend is one of the first in World Cricket to take 500 wickets in the limited overs format, as he has 502 wickets in the ODI format, a record later broken by the legendary spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan.

As a skipper of the Pakistan team, he also led them to their second final in the World Cup, which he lost to the Steve Waugh-led Australia. Next, he lifted the Asia Cup in the year 2000 with the side. Wasim Akram brought an end to his career in 2003; with 916 international wickets. The world has never witnessed any replacement for the magical bowler, often referred to as the ‘Sultan of Swing’.
