Anshul Kamboj made history for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy on Friday. He scalped a ten-wicket haul in round five match in Rohtak.
Kamboj gave away just 49 runs and picked up 10 wickets in the spell. He became the third bowler to pick up 10 wickets in an innings in the history of Ranji Trophy.
Bengalโs Premangshu Chatterjee (10/20) and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sundaram (10/78) are the two bowlers who have achieved this feat in the tournament’s history before.
Before the start of the third day, he had already picked up eight wickets. He then dismissed Basil Thampi and Shoun Roger to pick up the last two wickets and complete his feat. His spell helped Haryana dismiss Kerala for 291.

Kamboj bowled an excellent spell on Day 2 of the game to initiate the collapse of the Kerala batting order as they ended Day 2 with 285 runs for the loss of two wickets.
On the third day, Kamboj made an impact by dismissing Thampi in the 111th over, marking his ninth wicket. Shortly after, in the 117th over, he finished his spell by getting Roger out with an outside edge, achieving a rare milestone. In the history of Test cricket, only Jim Laker from England, Anil Kumble from India, and Ajaz Patel from New Zealand have taken all ten wickets in one innings.
Anshul Kamboj has made quite the name for himself in cricket. This was really shown with his inspiring 10-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy against Kerala. This performance not only registered his name into the history of cricket but went on to show his incredible skill as a pacer.
From Haryana, this young bowler has shown he’s one to watch, especially after his IPL stint with Mumbai Indians. His journey from domestic circuits to such a historic moment is truly inspiring.
