India A faced off against UAE in the Emerging Asia Cup 2024 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amerat. During the game, Ayush Badoni took a spectacular catch that made the headlines.
In the 15th over, Ramandeep delivered a full ball targeting Jawadullah’s leg-stump. Jawadullah swung for the fences, aiming towards long-on. However, Ayush Badoni, displaying superhero-like reflexes, dashed in from the boundary, dove to his right, and pulled off an incredible catch. Jawadullah, after managing only one run from two balls, made his way back to the pavilion.
Coming to the match, UAE won the toss and elected to bat first. They were all out for 107 runs in 16.5 overs.
Indian captain, Tilak Verma said: “We wished to field first as well had we won the toss. Last game, we didn’t expect any dew but hope to get it today. We are going with the same team. If dew comes into play, 170-180 would be good to chase. We will try to bowl well and keep them under that.”
India A beat UAE by 7 wickets
Rahul Chopra was the highest scorer of the innings who scored 50 runs off 50 balls. Basil Hameed scored 22 runs off 12 balls.
In the bowling department for India, Rasikh Salam picked up three wickets. Ramandeep Singh scalped two wickets. Anshul Kamboj, Vaibabh Arora, Abhishek Sharma and Nehal Wadhera scalped one wicket each.
India A chased down the total in 10.5 overs, losing just three wickets. Abhishek Sharma scored 58 runs off 24 deliveries, Tilak Verma scored 21 runs off 18 balls and Ayush Badoni remained not out on 12 runs off 9 deliveries. India A registered an easy win by 7 wickets and kept their winning juggernaut rolling. It was a comprehensive performance from them.
