“After years of Dad consistently beating me, I’m finally getting a few points back. Thanks @davidwarner31 for being the best hitting partner.”

Meanwhile, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is soon approaching as the five-match Test series starts on November 22 in Perth. In a recent statement, Warner had said that he is ready to take back his retirement and be an option for the opening spot if Australia needs him in the series.

After the retirement of Warner from Test cricket post the Test series against Pakistan, Steve Smith was tried as the opener but he did not succeed in that position. Hence, he is back at number four for the Test series against Australia. Cameron Green has also been ruled out of the series and hence Australia will depend on Nathan McSweeney for opening with Usman Khawaja in the series.

Usman Khawaja recently made fun of Warner for his suggestion of coming back from retirement and opening the innings in the BGT. Khawaja said that Warner loves to make unnecessary drama.

“Ah, big Davey’s hilarious. He’s just throwing the fishing line out there, as he does. He knows how to create drama. There’s no doubt he could probably still do it, but he’s gone; he had a great end last year, a great retirement. I love Davey… He’s still rocking the boat. That’s Davey; that’s why I love him. He loves stirring people up,” Khawaja said.
