WATCH: Justin Greaves bowls a deceptive off-cutter to dismiss Litton Das

At the end of Day 3 of the second Test match of the series, Bangladesh are in a dominating position in the second innings as they have a lead of 211 runs. Bangladesh scored 164 runs in their first innings. However, they restricted the Windies for 146 runs in their first innings. Shamar Joseph has picked up two wickets so far in the second innings. Jayden Seales, Alzarri Joseph, and Justin Greaves have picked up one wicket each so far in the second innings.

Greaves bowled a gem of a delivery to dismiss Litton Das. He bowled a slower delivery, a 110.9kph off-cutter on the sixth-stump line. The ball cut back into Das and he was not sure of what to do and was caught on the crease. He pushed at the ball tentatively and the ball snuck between the bat and pad and crashed into the middle-stump. Das was dismissed for 25 runs off 34 deliveries.

Meanwhile, Shadman Islam has scored 46 runs off 82 deliveries, Shahadat Hossain Dipu has scored 28 runs off 26 deliveries, Mehidy Hasan Miraj has scored 42 runs off 39 deliveries and Jaker Ali is batting on 29 runs off 49 deliveries.

Andre Adams, the bowling coach of Bangladesh was happy with the performance

Andre Adams, the bowling coach for the Bangladesh cricket team, remarked that it had been a very good day for the team. He expressed that they aimed to demonstrate resilience and retaliate, which they successfully did. He was particularly pleased with the performance of the bowlers. Adams noted that the batting had been different from usual that day, which he viewed as a positive development. He spoke about Nahid Rana’s performance, mentioning that they anticipated his taking wickets given his ability to bowl at speeds up to 150kph, and highlighted Rana’s improvement in accuracy since February.

“Very good day. Wanted to show some fight. Counter-punch. And we’ve done that. Really happy with how the bowlers have gone. Batting has been different today. Nice sign. We knew it was coming at some stage (Rana five-for). When you bowl 150kph, you’ll take wickets at some stage. He has improved his accuracy. When he started in February, he was all over the place. We’ve got to look after him. That’s why he didn’t play the first Test.

It’s about understanding the game and how he creates chances for himself. Luckily we’ve got the likes of Taskin and Hasan to help him out. And Miraz has been excellent in this game. Not really sure about the plan (with the bat). What I do know is Simmo asked for fight and character. We need to be good with the ball again. We think the surface is getting better,” said Adams.
