Kieron Pollard displayed his beast power hitting skills in the Carribean Premier League by smashing some vintage sixes to lead his team Trinbago Knight Riders to a sensational win. Pollard went on to score an unbeaten half-century to help TKR register a 4-wicket win against St. Lucia Kings in Gros Islet.
Pollard had called it quits from the IPL before the start of the IPL 2023 season. He then became the batting coach of the MI franchise. He has announced his retirement from international cricket in 2022 after playing 15 years for West Indies.
St Lucia scored 188 runs while batting first and it was a steep target for TKR to chase down in their 20 overs. TKR stuttered during the run chase. Pollard was into the chase when TKR needed 65 runs off 40 deliveries. The equation was down to 27 runs needed off the last 2 overs but Pollard was not getting the strike as often.

Pollard exhibited beast mode in the penultimate over of the match. He absolutely destroyed Matthew Forde and smashed him for four sixes. He silenced the St. Lucia crowd and did the silence gesture after winning the game.
Pollard has been doing it time and time again in different leagues across the world. He can take apart any bowler at any point of time and that has made him one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket history. Even after his retirement, his confidence has not waned and he displayed that once again with a stunning innings and a last over blitz against St. Lucia.
“For someone who has played for the West Indies, captained them (the West Indies) and played a lot in St Lucia, for them to booâ€æYoung Shaq (Parris), showing his worth from the first ball he faced, he set the tempo. He did not have a great day in the field. Everyone has roles and responsibilities, and if my role is to finish games, that is what I have to do. Love seeing the young guys (contribute),” he said in the post-match press conference.
Trinbago Knight Riders are set to play their next game against Barbados Royals at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Wednesday.
