[Watch] Lahiru Kumara bowls peach of a delivery to dismiss opener Aiden Markram to complete 100 Test wickets

Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumara delivered an exceptional ball, which castled the South African opener Aiden Markram, who recorded another failure in Test cricket. With this dismissal, Lahiru Kumara completed his milestone of 100 Test wickets for Sri Lanka.

During the second Test match between South Africa and Sri Lanka, Lahiru claimed the crucial wicket of Aiden Markram early on in the match. The South African opener was sent towards the pavilion for a score of 20 runs in 35 balls. The Sri Lankan pacer bowled a marvelous spell in the first Test match at the Kingsmead.

In the 12th over of the first inning, veteran bowler Lahiru Kumara bowled a full-length delivery that was pitching near the off-stump. The delivery attained a bit of swing, which resulted in the ball hitting the stumps, dismissing Aiden Markram.

The wicket of Aiden Markram helped the Sri Lankan bowler to register 100 Test wickets for Sri Lanka in his name. He became the 5th Sri Lankan pacer to take 100-plus scalps after Chaminda Vaas (355), Suranga Lakmal (171), Lasith Malinga (101) and Dilhara Fernando (100).

The experienced fast bowler also took the wicket of in-form batter Tristan Stubbs with an oustside edge that carried towards the wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis.

Lahiru has impressively reached the milestone of 101 wickets in just 33 matches, maintaining a bowling average of slightly over 35. His performance reflects both his skill and his impact in the matches he’s played, making him a valuable asset to his team.

South African batter Temba Bavuma impressed everyone with his top form against Sri Lanka in the 2-match Test series. The skipper blasted an impressive 78 runs on the opening day of the second match against Sri Lanka at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.

He carried the pressure on his shoulders as South Africa was down to 43/3 before the arrival of Temba. The captain smashed a six and 8 fours in his confident inning. In the first Test match at Kingsmead, Bavuma played a match-winning knock of 70 (117) and 113 (228) in South Africa’s win by 233 runs.
