India, playing against the Prime Minister XI in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, has once again put forward a truly amazing performance, with their bowlers leading from the front in the first innings.
Australian Prime Minister XI opener Sam Konstas started well at the top of the batting order for the side, while Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj shared the new ball. Both these bowlers struck early on Day 2, while rain interrupted play post the second wicket.
Siraj in the first inning picked up the first wicket of opener Matt Renshaw as he drew the first blood for India. While Akash Deep followed with the second wicket.
Sam Konstas scores Hundreds at a strike rate above 100
Despite Australia’s struggle early in the Manuka Oval, opener Sam Konstas took a huge leap forward as he stood strong on a rain-affected Day 2.
Konstas scored a very successful hundred on Day 2, as the batter held firm on one end and scored a hundred with a bunch of fours and a six. Currently, the batter builds on to a partnership with Australian No. 9, Hanno Jacobs, putting on a 50-run partnership for the eighth wicket.
At the time of writing, Sam Konstas was dismissed by Akash Deep for a score of 107 after the opener scored the runs off just 97 balls. Jacobs, having scored a century alongside Pope, now continues to add runs onto the board for Prime Ministers XI.
