Nicholas Pooran was at his absolute best in the first T20I match between West Indies and South Africa at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium on Friday. He smashed 4 sixes in a row against Nandre Burger as the Windies won the game by 7 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

While chasing a target of 175 runs in their 20 overs, the Windies openers went crazy right from the start of the innings. However, the highlight of the chase was definitely the innings of Nicholas Pooran. He went after Nadre Burger in the 12th over of the game.

The first six of the over was hit on the 3rd ball of the 12th over. Burger bowled a fuller ball, outside off to Pooran and he went down the ground over long off for a maximum. On the fourth ball, Burger wanted to bowl a slower delivery and instead bowled a full toss. Pooran absolutely smashed it over the cow corner fence.

On the fifth ball of the over, Burger bowled a slot delivery on the off stump and Pooran thumped it straight down the ground for a massive six. On the final delivery, he bowled a slot delivery on the off stump yet again and this time around, Pooran thumped him over the deep midwicket boundary.

Pooran is definitely one of the dangerous batters in the world and he proved it yet again with an innings of 65 runs off 26 balls. He smashed 2 fours and 7 sixes in his innings with an incredible strike rate of 250.

Coming to the game, South Africa posted 174 runs in their 20 overs. Tristan Stubbs was the highest scorer of the innings with 76 runs off 42 balls. Patrick Kruger supported him with an innings off 44 runs off 32 balls.

Windies chased down the total in 17.5 overs. Alick Athanaze scored 40 runs of 30 balls and Shai Hope scored 51 runs off 36 balls. Nicholas Pooran finished the business for the Windies.
