[Watch] Rishabh Pant hilariously sets the field for Bangladesh in the first Test

Indian wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, made a stunning come back to Test cricket by scoring a century in the his return match after the car accident that he suffered in December 2022.

In the second innings of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh in Chennai, Pant was sensational, along with Shubman Gill, and scored 109 runs from 128 balls. Pant also scored 39 runs in the first innings of the game.

During his stay on the crease in the second innings, he was involved in a hilarious moment while setting the field for the Bangladesh team. He directed the Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto to bring a fielder on the on-side and the opposition captain listened to his advice.

Arey idhar aayega ek. Idhar kam fielder hai (Hey, put a fielder here. There aren’t many fielders here),” Pant was heard telling to Shanto.

A similar incident also happened when MS Dhoni set the field for Bangladesh during the 2019 ODI World Cup’s warm-up match.

The former Indian wicketkeeper-batter asked Bangladesh player Sabbir Rahman to move the square-leg fielder more towards the left and Rahman accepted his suggestions.

He always attracts attention with his witty and hilarious chirps from behind the wicket. His partnership with Shubman Gill in the middle took India to a score of 287/4, in their second innings. India declared at that position, giving Bangladesh a target of 515 runs to chase.

At the end of day’s play, Bangladesh are placed at 158 for the loss of four wickets. Bangladesh batters will need to really play out of their skins if they need to chase down the total in the remaining two days of the match. It remains to be seen if India can end the game tomorrow or Bangladesh can take the initiative.
