The first Test match between Australia and India is currently ongoing at the Optus Stadium In Perth. India’s regular Test captain, Rohit Sharma was not available for this Test due to the birth of his son and hence Jasprit Bumrah is captaining the side in his absence.
However, Sharma has reached Perth today on November 24 and is set to feature in the second Test match which is a Day/Night Test match at the Adelaide Oval starting from December 6.
A video has gone viral on social media where Rohit has been snapped at the Perth airport in his causal attire and sitting in a car. Meanwhile, India did not feel Sharma’s absence in the first Test barring the first innings. However, the captain’s arrival in Australia will definitely strengthen the team even more going into the series.

KL Rahul opened in the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal in Perth Test in Rohit Sharma’s absence
KL Rahul opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal in this Test. India were bowled out for 150 runs in the first innings. However, the bowling attack led by Bumrah’s five-wicket haul restricted Australia to just 104 runs in the first innings.
In the second innings, Rahul and Jaiswal stitched together a 201 runs partnership for the opening wicket. Jaiswal scored 161 runs off 297 balls with 15 boundaries and three sixes. Rahul, on the other hand, scored 77 runs off 176 balls with five boundaries.
At the time of writing, India have a lead of 442 runs on the board and still have five wickets in their bag. They will look to bat deep into the second innings and pile on the misery on the Australian Team. The cracks on the wicket are slowly starting to open up and the variable bounce can be seen off the wicket. Australia will definitely have a hard time batting in the second innings of this Test match.
