WATCH: Rohit Sharma suffers an unlucky dismissal in the second innings in Bengaluru

Team India have a massive task in hand to win the first Test match of the series against New Zealand in Bengaluru.

The trouble increased when a well set Rohit Sharma was dismissed after a half-century in the second innings. On the fifth ball of the 22nd over, Ajaz Patel bowled an off spinner delivery to Sharma and the Indian captain defended with soft hands.

However, the ball touched the inner half of the bat and rolled over to the stumps. The Indian captain could not believe it as he was looking in great touch chasing a big lead that the Kiwis had.

After Day 1 was washed out due to rain, captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first on an overcast morning.

The wicket had the moisture in it and India were bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings and were already a lot behind in the game. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant could reach double digits and it was a disaster batting performance from the Indian batters at home as they struggled against the pace, bounce and movement from the Kiwi spinners.

Here’s a look at the video of Rohit Sharma’s dismissal:
