WATCH: Rohit Sharma's shocking reaction after Akash Deep's DRS call goes perfect

Indian Cricket Team are facing off against Bangladesh Cricket Team in the second Test of the two-match Test series at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur. Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, won the toss and elected to bowl first, keeping the overcast conditions in mind.

Bangladesh have scored 107 runs for the loss of three wickets in 35 overs before rain stopped play. Meanwhile, the reaction of Rohit Sharma after India’s successful DRS call to dismiss Shadman Islam, has gone viral on social media.

Akash Deep angled the ball in to Islam from round the wicket. The batter was rooted back inside the crease. He missed a straight ball and the ball hit the pads. There was a vociferous appeal from the fielders and Akash Deep himself. However, the umpire did not raise his fingers. Deep was very much confident with the appeal and forced Sharma to go for the DRS.

The Hawk eye displayed three reds as the ball was going to hit the stumps. Rohit Sharma, who was not confident before taking the DRS, looked shocked as the hawk eye displayed three reds. Shadman Islam was adjudged out on 24 and had to return back to the pavilion.

Strangely, this is the first time since 2015, that India have opted to bowl first after winning the toss in a home Test. Last time it happened in 2015 against South Africa under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. Also, this is also the second instance in 24 Tests played in Kanpur that a team has opted to bowl first.

Stating the reason behind the same, here’s what Rohit Sharma said at the toss:

“We are going to bowl first. The pitch seems a bit soft, so we have to make early inroads and we want our three seamers to make use of it. We didn’t start well with the bat in the first game, but we found a way to score and the bowlers did the job. I expect no different here (fight from Bangladesh), we will be challenged but we have the experience to bounceback. Same team.”

The second Test is currently being played at Green Park stadium in Kanpur. The weather looks gloomy at the moment and it looked like there won’t be any more overs of play on day 1.
