A video from the CPL 2024 has gone viral where Shimron Hetmyer could be seen grooving in one of the most unique Caribbean styles after he took the catch of Royals skipper Rovman Powell in CPL 2024.

The Barbados Royals locked horns with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 16th match of CPL. Put in to bat first, the Royals posed a great threat as Alleyne gave momentum to their innings, which helped QDK get settled.

De Kock then batted throughout the Royals innings, as he scored his maiden CPL hundred and remained the highest scorer with a stunning 115 of just 68 balls. At the base of De Kockโ€™s classy yet quickfire knock and support from Holder towards the back end, the Royals posted a total of 205.

However, in between the innings, Royals captain Rovman Powell fell to Dwaine Pretorius as he tried to clear off the boundary by slogging a wide ball, which was caught at the long-off fence by Shimron Hetmyer. Post this, his unique celebration stunned the audience as well as his fans.

After winning the toss, Guyana opted to bowl first, as Shai Hope put the Royals to bat first. Quinton de Kock and Kadeem Alleyne came to bat as the opening pair. The first three overs went in favor of the Royals, as Alleyne went off to a flyer for his 22 off just 9 balls.

Though Athanaze, skipper Powell, and Miller could not get it going, QDK stood firm from his end as he scored his hundred off just 59 balls. Holderโ€™s 10-ball 28, that came in handy towards the back end, led the Royals to a score of 205/6.

Next were Azam Khan and Tim Robinson, who also failed to start well, while the skipper of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Shai Hope, struggled to score quick runs as his 34-ball 40 didnโ€™t help him much.

Hetmyer played his knock, though he could not do a lot as he was dismissed for a quick 28 following Moeen Aliโ€™s 33 as well as Kemo Paulโ€™s 30,. The Royals who used only five bowlers, secured the match by 32 runs.

Quinton De Kock went on to be named the Player of the Match for his stunning innings, and the Royals added a 4th win to their tally.
