Virat Kohli, often regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the modern era, has been known for his aggressive batting and fierce leadership. The right-handed batter has a flawless technique with which he shattered multiple records, including being the fastest to 8,000, 9,000, 10,000, and 11,000 ODI runs. However, despite his legendary stature, Kohli has also faced periods of struggle

Virat Kohli went through a rare phase of inconsistency, failing to convert starts into big scores. His dip in form raised questions about his approach and mindset towards the game.

Recently, Kohli made a much-anticipated return to domestic cricket, playing for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy after more than a decade. His participation was seen as a statement of intent, reinforcing his commitment to red-ball cricket and regaining rhythm ahead of crucial international assignments.

The return of King Kohli did not go as planned, as he was dismissed for just 6 runs against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Playing his first Ranji Trophy match in over a decade, Kohli’s return was expected to be a grand occasion, with fans and cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting a vintage knock from the modern-day great. However, his innings was cut short early, adding to the sense of disappointment.

During the second inning of the Ranji Trophy encounter between Delhi and Railways, Virat Kohli seemed disappointed after his dismissal. Kohli looked tentative at the crease and struggled to find his rhythm on a slightly slow surface. After hitting a crisp boundary that momentarily raised hopes of a comeback performance, he was dismissed while trying to hit the ball for a straight drive and ended up overassuming the delivery. His early exit stunned the crowd at his home ground, which had gathered in large numbers to witness their hero in action.

In the 28th over, Harish Sangwan bowled a full-length delivery towards the off stump of batter Virat Kohli. The ball angled in very well and rushed through the gap between bat and pad, uprooting the off stump. The seamer celebrated aggressively, leaving the crowd stunned and shocked. The wicket of Virat Kohli resulted in fans leaving the stadium.
