Amidst growing speculations of whether he will play in the upcoming edition of the IPL in 2025, Shaji Ul Mulk, the founder and chairman of T10 Global Sports, has given a hint that the former CSK captain could be part of the T10 format.
Dhoni had been playing in the 2024 edition of the IPL with knee injuries. There were widespread speculations on whether he will be part of the next IPL and if the 2024 edition was his lasts Eason. The Ranchi born hasn’t, however, opened up on his future in the cash rich league.
It is not yet sure whether Dhoni will be retained by the franchise. However reports say that the former CSK captain might be retained using the new rule as an uncapped player.
MS Dhoni has still not opened up on whether he will be part of IPL 2025
The current active players are bound by the rules of the BCCI that they can’t be part of any overseas leagues but the former cricketers with the likes of Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan have already plied their trade in the T10 League.
Now, Shaji has given a hint that Dhoni might be the new cricketer to be part of the league and if this happens then it will be a watershed moment in the league’s history.
“Absolutely, I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind,” Shaji noted.
