The former Indian and Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, is one of the calmest figures on the cricket field. He seldom loses his cool. However, there have been instances when he has lost his cool on the field.
One such instance happened in IPL 2019 when Dhoni lost his cool on Deepak Chahar. Mohit Sharma recalled the incident in his latest interview.
In 2019, CSK was playing a match on their home ground in Chennai and it was very humid. Chahar tried to bowl a knuckle ball and he lost control. The ball slipped out of his stand and became a full toss. Captain, MS Dhoni walked up to him and asked him to not try the knuckle ball. However, Chahar tried it again and did not listen to Dhoni. The ball was converted to a high full toss and Dhoni lost his cool.
Dhoni went to Chahar, placed his hand on his shoulder and said that he is a fool that he gave suggestions to Chahar.

“In 2019, we were playing in Chennai. It was very hot and humid. Deepak Chahar bowled a knuckle ball which ended up being a full toss. Mahi bhai told him to not bowl the knuckle ball. After a couple of balls, he once again bowled the knuckle ball, which was a high full-toss that went over the batter’s head.” Mohit Sharma narrated the incident in his latest interview.
“Mahi bhai placed his hand on Deepak’s shoulder and said something. After the match, he came to us and told us what happened. He told us that Mahi bhai said, ‘Bewakoof tu nahi hai, bewakoof main hoon (You are not a fool, I am).” he added.
Dhoni will most probably be seen playing for CSK in IPL 2025. Chennai Super Kings is likely to retain their former captain at the lowest price.
