"You know…always gotta add some spice to it," Virat Kohli's classy reply to PM Anthony Albanese

The all-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 has already started and India started the series with a bang by winning the first Test match at the Optus stadium in Perth. Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli finally scored his 81st international century and his 30th Test century in the second innings of the Test match. It marked his welcome return to form since his last century during the ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final in Mumbai.

India will play a warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval on November 30 and December 1. This would take place ahead of the Day/Night Pink Ball Test at the Adelaide Oval starting on December 6. Team India will have seasoned players in their line up while the Prime Minister’s XI will consist of less experienced players. Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had a chat with the stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma ahead of the start of the match.

On Wednesday, the Prime Minister received the Indian cricket team at Parliament House where he had short discussions with both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. He praised Bumrah, noting his unique action and applauding his efforts. During his chat with Kohli, the Prime Minister made a light-hearted remark about Australia’s struggles in Perth, complimenting Kohli’s century. Kohli responded with a sarcastic quip, suggesting that he always likes to make things interesting.

The PM said, “Good time in Perth. Bloody hell, as if we weren’t suffering enough at that point,” to which Kohli sarcastically replied, “You know…always gotta add some spice to it.”

Rohit Sharma will be back in the playing XI after missing the first Test due to the birth of his baby boy. Bumrah captained the team in his absence and led the team sensationally well. Meanwhile, Kohli will look to continue his good form to Adelaide where he has enjoyed a lot of runs.
